CEO Cliff Calcutt explains how Agilebase aligns with UNESCO sustainability goals.
“A global software developer survey in 2022 showed that 92 percent of software developers are men,” said Cliff Calcutt, CEO of Agilebase. “That makes no sense.”
Calcutt decided to put inclusion at the heart of Agilebase.
“More than half of Agilebase citizen developers are women. We want it to be more,” he said. “And not only women. We want anyone, no matter who they are, to get the chance to become citizen developers and software architects.
“That is how we align with UNESCO’s goal of social inequality. “
He does not want to stop there. He believes that every worker has the right to decent work. Agilebase makes the software easy to use, making work more productive.
Not all software is the same. On August 11 2022, members of the union representing Magistrates’ court workers voted in favour of plans to strike over complaints about the digitization of England and Wales’ court systems.
“Agilebase is not only about digital transformation for companies. It’s about transforming the lives of people who use it.”
The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union said the Common Platform – a software platform designed to consolidate court data on a single system – had increased workloads and negatively impacted court workers’ work-life balances.
The strike ballot saw 93 percent voted in favour of strike action.
“We want to get the best value for money in terms of profits and financial success for the company, said Calcutt. We want positive impacts on local communities and the environment. We have embedded this drive into every facet of our business.
“Agilebase is not only about digital transformation for companies. It’s about transforming the lives of people who use it.”
